Shelia Kirksey

Clinical Social Worker, Therapist

Welcome! I thank you for taking the time to review my biography. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas and Georgia, receiving my Master’s and Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. While I have a wide range of clinical experience  – my ideal clients are navigating women’s issues, sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, infertility/fertility and relationship challenges. I have vast experience with individuals who identify with the BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities.

Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work in state and federal government, the nonprofit sector, and serve as online faculty for the University of Phoenix. Throughout these experiences, one thing has remained consistent – my desire to ensure individuals feel heard and affirmed regarding their individual experiences.

My passion in providing therapy stems from my belief that our mental health is equally important to our physical health. Too often we rush through life not taking the time to be mentally and emotionally present with all that we endure. My goal is to provide an outlet where you can put yourself first and address the topics that are most concerning to you.

You can expect a reflective and insightful session that leaves you feeling empowered. While therapy is challenging at times, my goal is to help you in resolving the barriers that stand between you and the best version of yourself.
